A little about me....
My name is Maureen Wagner and I am excited to teach Social Studies and Language Arts to your fifth-graders here at Triangle Math and Science Academy!  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The State University of New York at Cortland. After relocating to North Carolina from Huntington, New York eleven years ago, I taught second and third grade at Creech Road Elementary. Prior to teaching, I had a marketing career in publishing. Over the past year and a half, I have been reacquainting myself to the classroom (after a nine-year break) as a teacher and long-term substitute in various grades. It has been a wonderful learning experience for me. I have particularly enjoyed teaching fourth and fifth grade students. I have a passion for reading and teaching great literature, writing, and geography.  In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, writing and spending time with my two children; Ryan, 9 and Allison, 7 (both currently attend Middle Creek Elementary School).  Most recently, I took a trip to Topsail Island with my children and was able to watch the wildlife
preserve rescue a nest of baby loggerhead sea turtles. I have included photos below. I am delighted to teach full time again and look                                                                             forward to getting to know your children during the 2017-2018 school year.
